The role

Preparation of Bills of Costs for Detailed/Provisional Assessment as well as litigation of bills through the Court process.  Advocacy at Court if required.  Client facing role, providing advice and taking instructions throughout the case.  Provision of technical support to fee earners and assistance in training of junior members of the team.

Duties include

• Preparation of Bills of Costs, Schedules and N260s
• Ensuring work is accurate, compliant with CPR rules, and aligned with client or court instructions
• Drafting of Replies to Points of Dispute (depending on experience and supervision)
• Contributing to team knowledge-sharing and learning, with opportunities to mentor or be mentored
• Helping maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and reliable delivery
• Shadowing or assisting with advocacy and negotiation tasks, where appropriate to experience

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working either in house or for an external supplier of costs drafting services.
