The role

Due to a large influx of work they are looking for a Costs Lawyer/Draftsman with at least 2-3 years’ experience as a Defendant Lawyer.  Although the role is mainly defendant, they do have claimant work too and during busy periods they move work to other lawyers in the department.

Duties include

• Draft Points of Dispute and provide strategic advice on costs challenges.
• Review and analyse Bills of Costs, including electronic bills.
• Advise insurer and corporate clients on costs exposure, proportionality, and litigation strategy.
• Attend detailed assessment hearings, CCMCs, and costs‑related applications where required.
• Manage own caseload efficiently, ensuring deadlines and service standards are met.
