They specialize in public and private family law, including:
• Care proceedings
• Complex high-cost case plans
• Financial remedy proceedings
• Child protection cases
The successful candidate will be responsible for
Preparing high-cost case plans for submission to the Legal Aid Agency.
Drafting and submitting claims for costs assessment.
Negotiating costs settlements and ensuring compliance with legal aid funding guidelines.
Duties
• Drafting high-cost case plans for complex family matters.
• Preparing Costs Budgets and Estimates for Legal Aid cases.
• Drafting Bills of Costs for assessment.
• Liaising with clients and advising on legal aid costs recovery.
• Negotiating costs settlements with the Legal Aid Agency.
• Ensuring compliance with LAA regulations and funding criteria.
• Undertaking additional duties as required by senior management or partners.
Essential Skills
• 3+ years’ experience in Legal Aid Costs Drafting, specialising in high-cost case plans.
• Expertise in Legal Aid Agency regulations and submission processes.
• Strong understanding of CCMS and legal aid billing procedures.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage high-value caseloads efficiently.
• Up-to-date knowledge of CPR and legal aid guidelines.

• Methodical approach to problem-solving and costs analysis.
